5-keys components of Mental Toughness to create a better Mars & Venus.
In the spectrum of life, the key to success is mental toughness. Mental toughness is an attribute that you can learn to achieve throughout many trials and tribulations in your life. Almost like this, “when life hands you lemons,you make lemonade,” metaphor. Mental toughness is the skill to be able to adapt to whatever is thrown in front of you.
Step 1: Maintain A Positive Expectancy
You must always keep your main goal at the forefront of your mental focus. It’s one thing to say you want to do something, but you have to always expect a positive outcome. Think positive, be positive, do not let self doubt and the fear of the unknown in anyway invade your positive mental space. Only then will you attract that of which you set out for you.
Step 2: Manage your daily choices according to your goals, and not your emotions.
This one is hard to do because as you know, each and everyday is different. You never feel the same way, some days are better than others emotionally, as well as physically. The dreams or desired future accomplishments must be strong enough for you to not let your emotions detour you in anyway.
Step 3: Aggressively manage your positive relationships.
You must always be aware of what and who you associate yourself with. Only align yourself with positive things and people who will promote your growth, apposed to those that will deter it. Aggressively cut off any relationships or situations where negative beliefs can try to infiltrate your road to prosperity.
Step 4 : Live in the Moment
“Never put off tomorrow for something you can do today.” Urgency is key, when you have a chance do to something, do it right then and there. Cease the moments that life gives you. You never want to look back on a missed opportunity. Apply effective course of actions daily in route to your goals.
Step 5 : Believe
Regardless of your religious or non-religious position, belief is vital in your growth and achievement. You cannot understand belief without an understanding of faith. Do not downplay this truth – faith and belief in your potential to achieve is absolutely vital.
There will always be bumps in the road but keeping a strong faith will allow you to get past the darkest of times. At these times it will take the strength of your faith to prevail. You must believe that you can achieve, for it is the spark that sustains you.
The truth is, fear will never completely go away. But through vigilant practice of the steps above, you can start building up the mental toughness you need to finally put fear in its place. Don’t ever give up – you can conquer your fear…and you can achieve!
