Girl’s on style Oscar Edition

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. The classic peplum style is on trend for spring. Coral mix with pink, I think it genius. I love a women who’s not afraid to pull off a short do. So feminine…

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad. I don’t think I have ever seen Jennifer in a gown I didn’t love. I love the cut out sleeve detail. Jennifer classic high bun she pulls off so well.

Viola Davis in a green Vera Wang and a cropped auburn do. I can’t say I love this look. The reddish do and apple green reminds me of Christmas. I don’t think the dress was flattering and definitely didn’t photograph well. Being she was going to rock her natural do, I think she should have wore something to play up the natural do.

Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive’. Unlike Viola Davis Ellie Kemper played up her auburn red hair in this sequined, red, gold and bronze Armani Prive’ strapless gown. Stunning…

Melissa McCarthy in Marina Rinaldi. I can’t say I hate this look. I love this color on her although, it could have been more structured. Looks like’s should could have also benefited from a better bra.

Rooney Mara in Givenchy. Simple. Understated but wow!!

Stacey Keibler in Marchesa, a gold draped gown. This gown is so fitting for the Oscar’s. She knocked it out of the park.

Giuliana Rancic in Tony Ward. Pure opulence with the rhinestone detailing, and sheer yoke

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji. Love the way the beading emphasizes her waist. Would have liked maybe a sexy makeup look. Is it just me, but why does she always look like she is so unhappy?  Do your feet hurt or something? Smile girl!! SMILE!

Esperanza Spalding in a powder blue gown and fro. Esperanza is by all means an amazing songstress, fashionista she is not. I thought to myself what would have been more appropriate for her. Then I thought about Sarah Jessica Parker at the AMFAR Gala. I think Sarah Jessica’s look would have been more appropriate for Esperanza. Esperanza should look up Sarah Jessica’s stylist. What do you think?

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli was gorge. I have be honest and say I envy Emma’s stylist. I think her stylist is a true fashionista. Her looks are always very fashion forward. She is being compared to a previous dress of Nicole Kidman. Yes, the dresses are similar but I think Giambattista improved on the look. What do you think?

Glenn Close in Zac Posen. This is true to Zack Posen and Glenn Close’s point of view in a single SWOOSH! The bustier, the mermaid silhouette. Then the tailored tuxedo blazer says I mean business.  This is a nod to my sexy mature women who are  performing in Act Two. Here at a Girls Best Friend we believe a woman’s looks should  speak to her essence.  In urban vernacular, “DO THE DAMN THING” !!
