Phase 1 meal ideas.

Phase 1 again is the most strict of all three phases. But it is also the most effective. I have a tendency to prepare more Phase 1 meals because I drop pounds faster. Once you are accustom to cutting out the simples carbohydrates such as white rice, potatoes, baked goods and empty junky foods, you’ll no longer crave simples carbs. You’ll crave fresh vegetables. I am sure some of you are saying crave veggies? Yes, crave veggies!  My secret is to add flavor with cheese and tasty sauces.  I have a mediterraneans salad idea that I prepare when I want something yummy. This may sound like lots of fat and calories but from my experience I don’t gain weight from fat, I gain weight from eating sugar and simple carbohydrates.

My Mediterrean Shrimp Salad

I begin by sautéing shrimp in a garlic flavored oil. Then I take hummus, you can find different variety of hummus depending on your liking. I line the bottom of my salad bowl with hummus. I add, nicely chopped romaine lettuce, red and green pepper, sliced cucumbers, kalamotivve olives and feta cheese.  Then I topped the salad with my sautéed shrimp. You can use a Greek Salad dressing, trezeki dressing or this yummy feta cheese dressing

In later phase you can eat with multi grain peta bread

Thai Shrimp Soup with Lime and Cilantro

Another great idea is soup.

I recommend making it to use as a appetizer or a quick snack in between your main meals.

1 tablespoon canola oil

3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger

1 small onion, thinly sliced

5 cups lowered sodum chicken broth

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 (1/2 pound) head napa cabbage, thinly sliced

1 1/2 pound fresh or thawed frozen shrimp, pealed and deveined

2 tablespoons Asian Fish Sauce

2 teaspoons grated lime zest

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add ginger and onion; cook, stirring oft, until fragrant about 3 minutes. Add broth and red pepper flacks; increase heat and bring soup to a low boil.

Add cabbage and cook 2 minutes. Add Shrimp, fish sauce, lime zest. and lime juice; cook just until shrimp turn pink, about 1 minute. serve hot, sprinkled with cilantro, if prefers.

I love love this soup. Keep this recipe for Phase 2 just add cooked soba noodles in later phase.
